(there’s no better way to travel)

A Tabletop Gaming Primer

Tabletop Gaming is, simply put, just what it sounds like, it’s playing a game that requires a tabletop. That, and at least one human– although we see more as generally better. So yes, of course, I’m talking about board games: Monopoly, Clue, Stratego, Sorry, Chutes and Ladders, Catan, Wingspan, Twilight Imperium. Chess? You bet. And we’re very excited about having some regular Mah-Jongg and Backgammon games going. But card games too, Go Fish is fine, Uno even more so; Bridge, Cribbage, Pokemon and Keyforge. But we play Arkham Horror, Marvel Champions, and Seas of Havoc card games here as well. We have so many fun and fabulous games on site. Many that maybe you haven't heard of, or don’t know how to play, but that’s where we come in. Our staff is here to help you find your next, favorite game. We’ll set it up for you, we’ll teach you how to play. Need another player or two, we can help you with that. Love the game so much you want to buy it and take it home, we can do that too.

So, how does a Tabletop Game Store work? Well first, please come in– we are terribly friendly– and have a look around; store tours are always free. Inside you will see shelves filled with brand-new, shiny games, games familiar and new, tables of various sizes surrounded by comfy, inviting chairs. Inside our game library room are yet more selves of games, but these are all opened boxes because they are set up ready to play. Once inside, like any other store, browse the shelves, see something interesting, just ask our staff, we’re here to answer questions. Like it, then please do purchase it, take it home, gather the family and/or some friends and enjoy a fun time around the table playing a game with good company. Not sure you’re ready to buy? Then by all means, take it home, our games are available to rent. Rent it and decide you want to buy it? Then we’ll take the rental cost off the retail price. Prefer a test drive first? Then take a seat and we’ll pull our copy out of the game library and play it with you in the store.

So how do the tables work? Everyone seems to be having a lot of fun. Well, good news, our tables are free, so pull up a chair and stay for a game…or three. But we’re small, darned near tiny, and our tables go fast. Well then, try a membership. Membership includes table reservations, discounts on purchases, first sign ups to events, early access to pre-releases, and a discount on all purchases.

Okay, you’re interested (hopefully), but you feel funny going in by yourself, you don’t know anybody, and you don’t know how to play these games. Well then, you are in exactly the right place. This community is all about meeting new players, helping them learn and enjoy these games, and, most importantly, making new friends. We have table markers for every situation, like if you’d like to learn a game but need someone to teach you, or if you know the game but need some players to join you. But, chances are, the moment you walk in, some friend you haven't met yet is going to wave you over to an empty seat at their table.

Yeah, this is just that kind of hobby.
